Substack to inform, inspire and make meaningful impact for our clients and the community
At The Second Chance Foundation we are privileged to have the opportunity and delighted to announce the launch of our Substack to inform, inspire and make meaningful impact for our clients and the community. People-centred and sustainable we explore stories of social interest, development and entertainment bringing you regularly produced short and long-format readings, as well as dedicated audio-visual content.
As an organization that serves marginalized, racialized, underhoused, incarcerated, formerly incarcerated women and their children*, and women transitioning back into community from the criminal justice system we are on the frontline of social justice, as well as overall material, social, cultural and general wellbeing needs.
The contemporary world more than ever is filled with mixed messages, old and new aesthetics, realistic and unrealistic ideas. From school to prison pipeline to impossible to achieve standards that make some more dangerously set up to fail than others, we are further perplexed with ways in which to comprehend our wellbeing.
Society leaves puzzled about matters of civic engagement, integration across a range of identities and experiences, migration, harm reduction, as well as other pressing issues. People more than ever encounter the need to educate themselves and others, talk openly and honestly about what happens in their community and the world around them, manage their interactions for positive experience and practice self-awareness.
